In the fall of 1998, I decided to take a year sabbatical from Brown to combine my interest in fashion with my commitment to public service. I found a solution when I began working at a not-for-profit called Dress for Success which suits low income women who are seeking employment with interview-appropriate clothes. As the Affiliate Relations Coordinator at Dress for Success I was able to assist women from domestic abuse shelters, homeless shelters and displaced immigrant programs to suit them with professional clothes for the workplace.

With excitement and motivation, these experiences have directed me towards creating Shop Well with You. When I received one of three awards in the Brown University New Venture Presentation Business Plan Contest, my plans to start this organization became a reality. The initial funds I won, as well as the support from those who have donated their time and energy have enabled me to work full time on launching this program successfully.
