I watched her struggle to find a wig that didnt look fake, buy makeup to cover up her sallow complexion and find clothes that were comfortable yet stylishbasically, to maintain her dignity.
My mother is a "hip" woman and she refused to sacrifice that because of her illness. When she did apply makeup and put on fashionable clothes in the morning, her overall disposition improved. I have spoken to my mother as well as other women in the cancer community and they all voiced a need for an individualized service that gave them tools to improve their appearance. Thus Shop Well with You took shape.
The idea of Shop Well with You became more defined as I had other life experiences. In the summer of 1998, I was awarded the May Company Fashion Internship Scholarship at Brown University which enabled me to work at the showroom for Betsey Johnson in New York City.

Shop Well With You is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit Organization
